college swimming - scouting

I know that this is a touchy topic for some, but I wanted some help from those that know. we have a 16yr old on our team, most of his times can be seen here www.swimrankings.net/index.php not all of his results are posted, because not all meets send the results to the site. The times from this past weekend are not up yet. He's a butterfly specialist that can swim free and IM. LCM times from this past week 100fly :56.24 200fly 2:06.61 100 free 53:95 200 free 1:56.38 400 free 4:05.49 400 IM 4:49.25 anyways, I was wondering what types of schools or conferences would be interested in a swimmer like him. He's got 3 more years of HS and has has signicant time drops the past two years in the 200 fly. from 2:18 in 2007 to 2:12 in 2008 to this past weekend 2:06.61.

There are many here with actual college swimming experience. My experience is as a parent. Keep in mind that the recruitment process for international students is at least slightly more time consuming. I believe most schools will require passing an English proficiency test. Also -the scholarship may not be a full one. Division 1 schools only have 9.9 scholarships for the entire men's swimming and diving team. Most Div 1 teams allocate scholarships in fractions across their roster of 24-30 (including divers).
