Phelps sets record for 2009

I hope those who dumped him as sponsors fell badly ?!

My understanding is that it wasn't so much that they dumped him per se, but rather that it was the end of his contract and therefore an easy time to let him go. I think he has done and will do OK.

.... and nowhere in the (Ottawa local) papers or TV guide did I even get a hint that there was such an event and that it would be Televised. Was it? Anyone know?:canada:

Michael Phelps is getting back into form and just swam his fastest 100m Free of 2009! At the end of the event, Phelps threw his gold medal in the crowd. People were pleased. Cheers for this, and congratulations USA for having produced such a champion.

Oops, I thought the title read, fastest time in 2009. Now I see it says, HIS fastest time in 2009. Still very fast.
