Searched and didn't find any suggestions.
I've accumulated a handful of souvenir swim caps. Anyone suggest unique ways to display the caps? Any cautions or steps needed to prevent breakdown of the material (such as color changes with sunlight exposure or drying/cracking)? Good swim. :chug:
not sure about having them on display, but you could get a binder with clear sleeves. put a clear paper in each along with one cap. get a thick binder if you have lots, or several binders if you have various colors or themes pool meets / OW events.
kind of like a photo album for your caps. you could even write something about how you got it on the same page.
If you've got 5 or fewer, I would think a shadow box would work well. If more than 5 then you could look into framing each on individually and displaying them on the wall as a set. Also, instead of regular glass, you could get some uv plexiglass that would block uv rays. Also, you would want to look into acid-free backing board or mat board and possibly archival acid-free tape to hinge the caps. Just my :2cents:
Although I have not done it with caps I've taken other items to a framing store and had them do it. I big poster sized frame job will cost about 60 bucks depending on which frame you go with. The framers will help you with the layout. if you are crafty you can try a craft store such as Michaels that do carry frames and other boxed like frames for showing off stuff/collections. Here in Los Angeles there seems to be one of those frame stores at every mini mall. Let us know how they came out. I'd be interested to put up some of the caps I have stuffed away.
