  • Mike swam for Princeton. I remember watching him leadoff their 200 Medley Relay at Easterns (their medley won NCAAs two years in a row, BTW). That was before the 15m rule. Also, back then you had to touch the wall with your hand before flipping, so he swam the whole first length underwater and then took one stroke and flipped. On his second length I think he took 3 strokes to touch the wall for his breastroker. And it's been a while but I want to say he broke 22 doing that. Gee, and I was thinking he went 48.49 in the 100 back simply because he was intimidated by the big guy in the lane next to him and didn't want to get 2nd place? :banana:
