hey don't forget about the Midwest?! The Illinois State meet had over 600 swimmers and posted some pretty fast times! LCM Nationals at Indy should attract a lot of Midwesterns, too:applaud:.....

Oh, there were about 350 this year, quite small. About 330 more than most eastern meets, I think.

We have one every year (not virutal, we go to Santa Cruz) with UCSC, but a masters one would be fun? (And you can wear any suit you like, or none, like chaos).

I like the idea of creating a team of the west vs. the east vs. the middle.
Meet up in the best aquatic location in the mid-west and battle it out!
Really, it would be more about meeting up all together -
Since we don't have a SC Meters Nationals, why not try to find a meet around that venue?
OF course, hands down the BEST SCM Meet is in Long Beach hosted by our SPMA Grunions.
But I can only assume everyone would want to move it west (and sunny) for this one. Any takers in the mid-west?

As far as etching out the boundaries of our little competiton, I say: give Paul Smith Ft. Worth and everything capable of growing a tequilla worm outside. He can also have the Dakotas and Nebraska and Utah, that is to say, everywhere that tequilla worms are allowed to marry multiple wives.
One way we separate the pretenders from the real out here is to check the spelling of "tequila." Pretenders often inexplicably include the second "l". Anyone who has ever, damning the consequences to be be paid over the next day or three, drained a bottle and then, hallucinating madly in an agave induced haze, teased out and gnawed triumphantly on the worm, knows how to spell tequila.
Pretenders -- even self-titled Zonesman pretenders -- not so much.
I would take this opportunity to revisit the beatdown Oregon delivered to the remainder of the entire freaking country last summer at LCM Nats, but that is - yawn - such old news.

AhHayley, if we are having an east vs west show down, it cannot be on the west coast! Are you trying to infect us with all your damn allergens and Clemmons' mustache vegetation? Nice try. Only fair to meet in the middle, get you guys out of your comfort zone for big meets, and Clemmons shaves the white wonder. Do you actually ever travel east of Texas and AZ? Or is traveling to the right side of the country too challenging?
Fresnoid, I believe that That Guy, flyer that he is, was being somewhat sarcastic and humorous in light of previous postings. Nice job, That Guy, I enjoyed it for one nanosecond before realizing the necessity of carrying on with the trash talking and sprint work.
