Yingfa body suit

I purchased the Yingfa body suit from George Park last week and used it for the local YMCA masters championship meet the was held at Clarion University of PA this weekend, April 4 & 5, 2009. I had never worn anything other than a jammer for meets (TYR fusion). The suit fit well and took about 10 minutes for me to get into. I have not been praticing much this past year due to coaching committments, and am not in the best shape. I am a breaststroker and the suit seemed to really help on turns and the start. I have been doing 1:14's this season for the 100 SCY ***. This weekend I went a 1:11.79. 50 *** was 33.90 all season and did a 32.83. Before using a body suit, as a coach, I did not think the suit would make much of a difference, but according to the times I did this weekend, it definitely improved my times. I can not see spending the big $$ for the better known tech suits but the price for the Yingfa was something I could live with. I would recemmend the Yingfa for the price and fit. Thank you George. • I have some leggings that I wore for a meet this past weekend. To me, they seem to be a bit faster than regular jammers. I have yet to try a full body suit. Currently, the price for a Yingfa is right for me, when I get faster I'll look into another suit, but I'm happy with what I've got for now.
  • George is a Yingfa expert. I think he will be able to answer your questions. Is this a Chinese made copy of a Speedo? In terms of the B70, two quick notes from the same meet. One guy told me his son, who swims high school, had done a lifetime best of 1:51 in the 200 free. His coach bought the team B70s for the PA state meet. The kid's time dropped to 1:44. I also heard from the goggle selling lady that if you put a 5 lb. brick on a B70, it still floats. She said if you put a 1 lb. brick on a LZR, it doesn't float. That's why she thinks the B70 will be outlawed and the LZR allowed. She also said B70s have been banned by high schools, and that all records swum in them may have asterisks put by them in the future. Are these just rumors, or has anyone else heard validated versions of these stories?

I'm looking at their women's training suits, on this page: swimdownhill.com/.../page4.html Has anybody worn them? I am wondering about the sizing. In a Speedo or Tyr I wear a women's size 30 or 32. In the YingFa suits, if I am reading it correctly, it sounds like I would wear a LARGE? Is this correct? (I am 5'1", 108 lbs.)
  • I also heard from the goggle selling lady that if you put a 5 lb. brick on a B70, it still floats. I find that exceptionally hard to believe. We need someone with a Blue Seventy to test this out!
  • Are the cuts different for the different suits, or just the visuals? George, I'll send you a PM with my measurements and current Speedo sizes. Thanks, Marjorie
  • Jayhawk, I'm 5'8" and significantly more than 108! I bought a L and think I maybe should have gotten the M. I would definitely say S for you. Hope this helps :)

This sounds like something that should be sent to the "Mythbusters" program since the swimming world can't seem to figure it out. -LBJ

Anna, I talked with George about the size and he recommended a large for me. I am male, 6' about 160 LB. The large fit me very well. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes for me to get into it. I would think a Medium would fit you best, but would email George for his assitance. Jim, I talked with her as well and ask where she heard about the 5 pound brick, because I had not heard that before. She stated that the information came from her speedo rep. Not sure if that would be accurate coming from the competition. The Blue 70 web site has some press releases that state alot of miss information is out there and they will be making changes if necessary. All the suits in now being tested and we will have to wait to see the outcome. Loren

A 5 pound brick? Give me a freaking break. Will you people believe anything? If so, I've got a nice bridge for sale. Look, the B70 did pass a flotation test before being approved last year. What makes you think this flotation test was less strenuous than placing a 5 pound brick on it? My B70 does NOT make me float. I have had absolutely no feeling of being more buoyant in it than in my old FS-1. The big difference I feel in the B70 is it's slickness. I feel like I can glide forever in it.

I don't know whether I should comment here I don't want to be thrown off the forum. 5'1, I would suggest either medium or small. For racing and a medium for training.
