The really sick part of that swim was that he didn't surface until about the 13m mark AFTER THE TURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rob Butcher (in the lane next to him) was quoted as saying "When I turned and looked at him, I thought 'that :censor: is beating us BACKSTROKE' and I was laughing under water the rest of the race" and went on to explain that Ross was flat on his back dolphin kicking like a madman.
Rob posted a very speedy 21.94 himself.
I watched that heat and I saw Rob and Jeff Roddin surface and I was looking and looking for Ross and WHOOSH, there he comes about a bodylength short of the 15m mark. I've never seen anyone do that in a 50y free. Wow.
