Questions on a new racing suit

So I'm looking for a new racing suit and was wondering why anyone would get a jammer over full tights? I have been looking at the TYR fusion 2 (they have it on clearance at swimoutlet) What are the advantages or disadvantages if any getting tights over jammers or is it personal preference? I'm on the fence on this one, this being my first racing suit, and would like to make a wise choice. I'm looking to get this suit for nationals but have a few meets before hand that I want to try it out at.

I need help chooseing a suit also. I am looking at the knee suit. Tried on fsII, needed a size smaller but hard to find since they are being discontinued fspro, I liked it but again could probably use a size smaller TYR Tracer light, fit the tightest in the hips and thighs but seemed a little big at top. Felt like it could bubble or take on water during a start or turn. Not sure here....can someone help point me in the right direction. In the past I have worn the TYR Aquashift full body and TYR Aquafusion knee suit. Thank you
