My goal this weekend was to see where I was in the 200fr before zones. I would like comments on my 200 time and splits based on my other times at the meet.
The meet went 500fr, 100fr, 50fr, 200fr fairly evenly split over a 3 hour meet. I wanted to get 200 time from my 500, but I ended up eating my goggles on the start, so I swam cruise 200, 200 back ez, 100 fr just not to get last. My 200 time stopping to put my goggles one was 2:19, but I don't think that means much.
100fr: 55.86
splits: 27.42, 28.44
50fr: 25.30
200fr: 2:04.54
100 splits: 1:00.04, 1:04.50
50 splits: 28.61, 31.43, 32.41, 32.09
I will comment on what I think of my times in another post. I am interested in all comments and criticisms. Something that is painfully obvious to you will be something I did not think of.

Your splits on your 100 free are really close - which is good. I'd like to see what would happen if you took out a tad faster .5-1.0
I think your 200 splits are okay - you want the 2nd, 3rd and 4th 50s a little bit closer. I wonder if you back off of the opening 50 by a hair if you'd have a little more juice to hold the last 3 50s at the same pace. A second drop off between 2 and 3 is very common BUT you want them closer. Do you think you can push a bit more on the 3rd 50 or is that all you got? My best 200s (and I am most certainly a drop dead sprinter) have all been surprisingly well split - usually I feel like I want to die or crawl out by the 150 and think I might spend a minute on it - but the adreneline or training or whatever gets me through it.
