Matt McLean: 14:35.12 in the mile. Top four finishers all made the A-cut.
Kudos to Noah Copeland who medaled again, this time in the 100 free
1 Robison, Scot SO Virginia 42.94 43.14 D1-B 20
20.37 43.14 (22.77)
2 Botha, Jarryd SR Florida St. 43.59 43.28 D1-B 17
20.49 43.28 (22.79)
3 Copeland, Noah SR Georgia Tech 43.58 43.33 D1-B 16
20.69 43.33 (22.64)
UVa has a commanding lead overall; UNC has snuck by Ga Tech into third, up 34 pts going into the final relays.
Though I naturally don't like that Virginia is winning, what I do like is that they are doing it with a strong distance corp (they went 1-2 in the mile, and took 4 of the top 5 places in the 500) rather than going with the conventional wisdom that tends to devalue distance guys in college, saying you need to win with sprinters (their sprinters aren't shabby either, but not really their forte).
