Ok so i decided to start going to meets this year. My first is commin up in March 21-Santa Clarita. and i am going to natonals here in CA! I am not super fast but I do have fun racing.
Just joined real swim team 2 weeks ago - last Saturday we swam 29 X100 on average like 1:25 - it felt extremely great.
i just wish we did more block starts...
There is lot of training ahead but i love every minute of it!

Mention to your coach that you would like to get more start practice in. You will either see some fast work for time included in future workouts, or your coach might ask you toward the end of practice if you want to hop up and get a few starts in. I guess they could also giggle and make snarky remarks.
I think most coaches don't get enough positive feedback, and are really responsive when they do get it. I have had the same coach for years, but just last month was the first time I shared any swimming specific goals with her. Now she points out what sets should be my focus sets and what I need to be trying to accomplish during that set, and how I need to be progressing in future sets to meet my goal.
