Michael Phelps and a bong? Is there any truth to this?

are we sure that's Phelps?
If true, he seems to have a habit of screwing up in the very next Novembers after Olympics...
anyone here from the UK? How reputable is "news of the world"?
How could he be so careless?
I do have to say that this forum is one of the most well behaved, respectful ones I have ever stumbled across. Lots of great information, and a very minimum of snark. A rarity in internet communication! Keep it up!
You think it's good now, just wait till next week when Stud and Fort will break open the bottle of Love Potion #9, dance the Lambada (aka the Forbidden Dance of Love), and serenade each other with poetry.
Maybe even that sweetest of couples, D2 and El Rey, will join in and shed their evil ways and become part of our community.
Aren't you planning to emulate Mr. Phelps on Saturday? I am going to copy him as closely as I can, given my own personal capabilities, training, and general lack of experience.
Sure, now just where, oh where, did I put that dang thing. Haven't used it in eons...
Yeah, pass that along when you're done with it and I'll do some research with you.

i just read about the 3 months suspension on Yahoo. It also said Kellogg's cereal just dumped him; they felt his image was no longer in line with their product . Michael said he may not swim in the 2012 Olympics due to the extreme public scrutiny he's been put under.:badday:
His neck will make Mr. T jealous come 2012....
Mr. T pities the fool who's neck makes him jealous!
Sorry, couldn't resist. Back to your regularly scheduled thread.
:D
I don't have a lot of experience at other fora -- none, actually -- but I have the impression that this one is fairly reasonable in its tone compared to many others (and useful besides).
Neverthelss, I have definitely had my share of "email arguments" -- always with university administrators, I think -- that got a little too heated, and I think that the communication medium was a huge factor in the escalation.
So I found the following commentary (from my favorite movie critic) thoughtful, though there was not necessarily anything I hadn't heard before.

(My own advice, which I try to keep: nevery type a message when angry.)
Sorry for straying off-topic; take it away.
Yea, I think even Stud, with his british backing and attraction to football would have figured out you weren't talking about Fort. But, I do have one question, you asked them to "put-up or shut-up" so, why haven't you gonna ahead to put your times up?
I think that if you are going to make a challenge to someone, then why not put your's out there first. Be proud of your times. If you are faster...great...if not...great too.
Just an opinion.
I long since lost interest in the thread of their argument but I do recall that Carlos' times were impressive. I understand what you're saying, though I am not sure exactly what that proves.
Our local paper had an op-ed about the Phelps thing:

Not really Michael, but a related video I think well worth your time (60 sec)....time that is going by really, really, slowly--and I think I'm dead. Please enjoy.:)
