How to improve poor flexibility in right shoulder?

I've just noticed I have poor flexibility in my right shoulder. It seems to make sense that I could drop some time just by improving this. Does anyone know any good stretches or exercises I can do to address this? The flexibility test I did was to try to touch fingers of opposite hands behind my back by reaching one hand back over shoulder and the other hand just reaching up from behind the back. It's a test I learned of recently when I became a personal trainer. I am wondering also if years of swimming could actually have caused this as well.

That arm stretch in yoga would be the cow-face. www.active.com/.../Pose_of_the_Month__Cow_Face.htm yoga.lovetoknow.com/Cow_Face_Pose Many people without knowing it, would have imbalances in flexibility in left to right stretching (or vice versa), not just the arms but also other body limbs, even for non swimmers, its just that people naturally favour one side over the other. A few months ago I realised I had a problem with flexibility, as you mention. Now I am a lap swimmer and I do 2 or 3 km most mornings but I never breath to the left, ever. When I tried to, I couldn't even do 50m, so I started to do intervals just breathing on my left and I then realised how much my left hand (arm!) was actually slipping through the water. I am working on it and its making a big difference. Brian
