Hey there. I used to swim in a club between age 8-13, but quitted after that. Now I'm almost 17, and recently I restarted to swim because I'm following a beachrescuer course.
We need to swim a time of 4:30 in 200metres (swimming style is free of choice, I picked freestyle=front crawl) for our practical examination. Easy, right? In this morning's lesson I swam a time of 3:20, which means I should pass easily.
But is this actually a good time compared to you guys, and compared to the average of my age? I'd like to know.
side note: This time was swam with clothes on (that means I was both wearing long pants and a shirt with long sleeves). Also consider that I wasn't able to use flip turns, but had to tab the side of the pool, place my feet against the wall, turn and push off.
Furthermore, what are your times?
