I guess the title is misleading, because I am not really new to swimming, but I haven't swam competitively since I was about 9 or 10, and I am now 15. My times are okay, but I would like to know what I can do to improve them, specifically, what makes a swimmer go fast, and what I need to work on to go faster. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated as I am somewhat confused, below I have my race times as best as I can remember them in case they should be of any help (distances are in yards).
50 Free - 25.2
100 Free - 57.9
200 Free - 2:23.?
100 Back - 1:13.? (only raced once, if I raced again I would probably drop a second or two)
P.S. I am mostly concerned with freestyle swimming, as that is what I race most frequently, but any suggestions for any stroke are welcome.
Thanks
