Freestyle kick troubles

Hello everyone, I'm coming back to swimming after not having been in the water competitively since 6th grade. I swim somewhat during the summers, but not at all hard (I was a lifeguard through high school). I currently play tennis on my college team, but I'm trying to get in better shape. For the past month I've been making it to the pool four to five times a week and working on my strokes. I'm a decent breaststroke swimmer, but my freestyle is lacking. It seems that my legs get tired very quickly and my arms are left doing all the work. In fact, I feel that I move faster in freestyle with just my arms and a pull buoy. But I'm starting with a masters group tomorrow, and going five mornings a week! They all seem very welcoming and the coach said all levels are welcome. But for the first 30-40 minutes they pretty much swim freestyle against the clock. So I'm going to be sharing a lane (the one slowest they have :D) and I'm worried about my legs giving out. I kick from the hip, let my knees flex a bit and keep my feet pointed. Anything I can do to help with lazy legs? Thanks.
