I am in the process of buying a new Tech. Should I buy a Blue70, Speedo LZR or TYR Tracer. The next question what style, full body, legs or jammer. I have always swum my brestroke events in the old school speedo and have done great and PB’s. Fellow swimmers say I need to try a Teck suit as it will improve my times. Please I need some advice
  • B70 Full Body. I had never swum in more than jammers before I tried (and disliked) a Speedo FS full body. I found multiple points I didn't like. Tried the B70 and love the feel, especially on breaststroke in my IMs. Disclosure: I have not tried either the LZR or Tyr, but have talked with many people and read many forum discussions on this. I'm with Patrick on this. I had a Speedo FSI long john (full legs, over the shoulders, no arm coverage) that I hated even for freestyle. I got a B70 long john that's been great for all strokes. I've set some PB's (br and IM's) in it. I also don't have any experience with a LZR or Tyr. I don't believe there's a B70 with arm coverage as of yet. Could, of course, be wrong...
  • Long legs. But you should train in it so you know how it feels. Otherwise you won't be able to feel the power from your legs in your race and it will throw you way off. Glenn Mills convinced us of this at SC Nationals last year and we all swam faster breaststroke and IMs.
  • But you should train in it so you know how it feels. Otherwise you won't be able to feel the power from your legs in your race and it will throw you way off. I know Ande has stated this as well but I disagree a bit. Since there are only a relatively "few" swims in it, I choose to swim some less important meet swims in it instead which, by doing so and popping a couple of impressive (to me) times, created some "wonderment" in the suit. Plus I ended up with a TT swim out of the first one, hundred free (59.06), the only time I had a chance to swim it during the season. You'll get used to it real quick, I don't think you need to wear it in a workout to do so. Just my opinion...

I went with the B70 kneeskin. I wanted to feel the water below the knee on shaved legs. It hepled me get a nice 2 second drop in my 100 BR. A little less expensive, too.
