  • Allen, forgive me if this has come up here earlier, but what is your guestimate of the percentage of the medal-winning swimmers wearing B70s and LZRs vs. earlier generation suits? Anybody wearing the Jaked? Anybody set a national record yet without some kind of speed suit? Or win an event? Any scuttlebutt on B70s fate for LCM Nats? Jim, unless you provide proof of ownership of some kind of tech suit, they don't even let you compete.:bolt: I haven't seen any Jakeds. I've seen a lot of B70s and LZRs, as well as FS-Pros, Renegades, Lattes, and others things. I have no idea of the percentage of winners in tech suits vs without. I don't know whether it differs from the percentage of the general population wearing some kind of suit (which is high). The Floswimming people are here (I met them both at lunch, they are nice but overworked) and I'm sure they will be posting lots of videos that you can analyze to your heart's content. Jazz Hands didn't wear a tech suit, but he "only" got 2nd in the 50. BTW, he is planning to swim the 500 tomorrow. Another aside: although we miss Mark Gill's announcing a lot, Rowdy has been doing quite a bit and he is great: very very enthusiastic. In fact, he is much better (IMO) at this meet than he was at the Olympics. His enthusiasm for masters swimming is pretty obvious. (And his 50 free was very pretty to watch, too.)
