Trying to go back to training after 40+ years I see technique has evolved.
The question of choosing the best technique models to follow drove me to take into consideration the height factor. Between two swimmers who post the same time for a given distance the shorter swimmer necessarily is applying the better combination of technique and effort, if not efficiency.
Factoring in height it happens that Libby Trickett (5´7) is 1% better than Eamon Sullivan (6´2) for the 100LCM, and Erik Vendt (5´11) is 8% better than Grant Hackett (6´6) for the 1500. Interestingly enough Janet Evans (5´4) was 11% better than Hackett for the distance.
Is there any "short" elite sprinter out there ?

(Decided not to take the bait on this one. Innumeracy thrives!)
