While some swimming organizations are running away from tech suits, we masters are embracing them with open arms:

This is great news for USMS!
Great job Rob Butcher and Roque Santos! Gotta love it when two breaststrokers work together...

Do they stretch as much as a plain old Speedo lycra suit ?
I haven't tried them, but I would generally think that they don't stretch like that...
Hi Doug
I followed all the links to the PDF pages telling how to put it on.
It says you should use a plastic bag to aid in getting your legs into it.
What a hassle: Getting into -and swimming in- what amounts to a elastomeric body condom.

Answer this: If you don't compete in meets or plan too. If you haven't swam competitively before. If you only swim for fitness once and a blue moon, why do you even care if tech suits are legal or not?
Why spend your time making silly statements about the suits, if you don't plan on having the need for them?
Venture capital is for new and emerging companies, dang it ding-dong.
I think if you'd spend a minute on-line looking at prices of suits, you'd find many under $250 and quite a few under $200 as well. Obviously, it's easier to spew about what you don't know about and lie as well than do actual research. I bought one last week for $129.

the hineck Speedo LZRs retail for $550, not sure what they wholesale for
my guess is that speedo LZR sales haven't been as brisk as speedo hoped they might be
sure LZRs were the suit that most people wore to break records in 2008 but most of them were signed speedo athletes.
Unforeseen events happened in 2008.
+ Speedo was slow to bring the LZR to market
+ LZRs are pricey
+ LZRs are fragile, might not get in many races before the suit is ruined.
+ LZRs have had issues with zippers breaking / splitting down the middle.
This often spells disaster, the back of the suit fills up with water slowing down the swimmer.
Plus if I bought a suit and had a zipper break I'd return it for a refund.
+ Rules are coming on to block expensive tech suits from age group swimming
+ competitors beat them to market offering excellent more affordable alternatives. Most masters will spend $300 or $400 on a tech suit once.
+ consumers tend to buy right before big meets
I haven't seen many masters wearing LZRs.
Speedo had a big booth at olympic trials where swimmers could check out suits. Not sure how many bought on the spot. My guess is most used them in their race then turned them back in saying thanks dude. LZRs weren't for sale during trials or the olympics.
IMHO Speedo needs to roll out a new gen tech suit solution that is more competitive reliable and affordable.
I do believe the FS PRO is an excellent suit.
probably the most affordable tech suit solution.
I hope speedo won't use their clout to get competitor suits thrown out.
Hey Aquageek:
Speedo is selling LZRs for $450 each, they've got to be making big $$$.

If a LZR isn't going to last 6 months to a year, I won't buy it. I don't have the dough to spend 400 or so bucks on a suit that will only last less than 6 months. I will probably look into the B-70 one of these days. Hopefully, B-70s will get into making non-full body suits.
So most of the big swimming orgs (USA, Euro, Australia) have come out in favor of banning the suits in their current configuration. Of course FINA still has to weigh in on these suggestions which I believe it will do so in Jan. Will USMS continue to support a product that is not legal in other high level competitions? IS B-70 just trying to get as many of these suits sold before the other organizations ban them? I hope these the B-70, LZR, etc... are banned in USMA if FINA ban them.

B-70 has a knee length suit. It's the one I bought since I couldn't get the full body in my size and wasn't sure about breaststroke in the full body. The knee length is also has the advantage of being cheaper (retail $320) and easier to get into.

There seems to be no limit to the depths of your ignorance and now we can add liar to the list.
TYR is a private company. Good luck finding Speedo's stock ticker.
You've been told a few dozen times already that these suits are loss leaders. If you ever bother to visit a team or know anything about suits you'd understand this.
Damn, dealing with you and your utter lack of knowledge on anything aquatic is becoming tiresome. You need to stop, seriously.
Hey Aquageek:
If the companies don't actually have public stock offerings, there's always the venture capitalist approach where I can invest in them directly.
People are always bellyaching about the price of gas and the profits that oil companies are making. However if Speedo is selling LZRs for $450 each, they've got to be making big $$$.
Anyway what ever my strategy for investing in suits actually is, I really thank you and I appreciate getting your business in the future!!!

If they are going to sponsor USMS, are they going to expand their sizing to include, uh, "Masters" size suits ?
Or, the masters could work a bit harder and eat healthier so they can fit into offered sizes...
After all, we do control what we shovel into our mouths.
Just a suggestion, and its one we do have control over.
