1. Can anyone reccommend a good"after-swimming" shampoo that i can use everyday? 2. Are Phelp's goggles custom made and he doesnt use the Speedo Speedsocket Mirror's he is meant to? 3. Whats an ideal chest and waist size for a swimmer (in inches) for someone who is 6ft 2? 4. Can anyone help me with getting into a college swim team (preferably Virginia or Michigan) considering i would be an overseas (U.K.) student and how the selection process works, is it just done on times? - i finish high school in 2 years and this would be great training for 2012. I understand what is required academically but am a little confused swimming wise by the system. Cheers.

hi chris, while i can't help you get into either of those swim programs; you chances would be much improved by limiting the consumption of these items: www.youtube.com/watch i usually skip the shampoo and rely on conditioner to keep my coat looking shiny, and under control.

    1. I don't think it matters much. I have never found a good chlorine removing shampoo, and rely on conditioner to keep my hair looking like hair. 2. No idea, but I doubt they are custom made. He has probably being given a free pair of every goggle made on the planet, found a pair that works for him and asked for 30 more pair. Goggles are not a big money maker, nor do they provide too much real estate for branding, so Speedo probably doesn't worry about it. 3. Eh, someone shaped like a Sailfish. 4. Times and a good match for the program. If you look at some of the top programs, some are foreign heavy and some are domestic heavy. Obviously, you are going to have an easier time getting into a foreign heavy program... if you have the times. The UK has some really awesome swimmers right now. Just win your national championships at the end of your Junior year, and I think you should not have too much trouble finding a college team or two interested in you. :) Seriously, look up who signed with the schools you are interested in, then look up their times at Jrs or Srs their Junior year of high school, and you need to place as well or better. The team rosters should be online and the Jrs and Srs national times are definitely online.

I can't answer anything but the hair question. I found UltraSwim works best for me. You will have chlorine deposits lingering on your hair unless you remove it. But it just depends on your hair. Some people have no problem with just regular shampoo and conditioner and the chlorine seems to have no effect. However, I notice a HUGE difference in mine if I don't use a chlorine removal shampoo.
