My comment about Jim Thorton being in the Eastern Media::D led me to wonder how many Forumites are on the E Coast as it seems lots of Y'all run into each other at meets. So where are you from. Also,I know many of you want to remain anonymous, but I'd like more people to fill out their profile.People talk about how they did at a meet, but without a name I can't look them up.

Live in Oakland, work in San Mateo. I swim mostly at an outdoor pool in San Mateo and sometimes on the weekends spring for the 3 bucks to swim in an outdoor pool in Oakland. I recently discovered that a pool in Berkeley offers stroke coaching for 6 bucks on Saturday mornings, so I might give that a try.
Just another reason to move to Arizona.
How about just a visit...I'm looking into trying to organize a swim camp in March of 2009 when spring training is in full swing and we have a 3 day state SCY state meet going on, a number of road and mountain bike events and at least one triathalon...anyone interested??
Austin, in the Republic of Texas.
My favorite memory from the six years I lived in North Carolina was the Sunday afternoon that I was swimming at our local YMCA and a large group of large people filled the stands for a baptism in the indoor pool (at which point I headed for the showers). That and the billboard that read, "Yes, we have size 72 pants!"
I'm chowsh (and chowec)'s little sister.
Where's the Texas option?
The cat bus, long time no see!
I was just in NY and there was this Japanese book/novelty store; a whole section of cute Myasaki (sp) stuff, but way too expensive! 45th btwn Madison & Park.
I was learned all the way from 1st grade through colej in North Carolina public skulz. Don't y'all say nuttin' bad bout dat!
So you made it from 1st to 5th grade. Good Job Geek!
So, Geek, is Raleigh the central relocation places for "half-backs" If ya'll don't know what that means...it's the term for yankees that move down to florida, then start moving back but settle somewhere in the south. Most of the time, if they don't assimilate into the southern culture, we would prefer them to become "fullbacks" get on back north. :-)
Asheville is also called the new "athens,ga" for all the progressive music and art that are being produced in the area. Just outside...near Boone...great skiing.
Fort...I would LOVE to live back in the DC area. Outside of southeast tennessee, that is my favorite area in the country.
And can you define cold?
When the temperature dips below 90.:)
Seriously, though, my perfect weather requires me to wear no more than shorts, t-shirt and a pair of sandals. One of my few disappointments with Arizona is that it doesn't deliver that to me year round.
I live in WA state, but am currently spending about 75% of my time in Norfolk, VA. My home pool is the Tumwater Valley Athletic Club (newly coachless). My team away from home is the Tidewater Aquatic Club. Traveling for work sucks, but I am loving the 50 meter Fleet Rec pool.
