My comment about Jim Thorton being in the Eastern Media::D led me to wonder how many Forumites are on the E Coast as it seems lots of Y'all run into each other at meets.So where are you from.Also,I know many of you want to remain anonymous,but I'd like more people to fill out their profile.People talk about how they did at a meet,but without a name I can't look them up.
The rural South. There is an owl out in my woods behind the house I can hear at night. I can also hear coyotes howling at night in the woods that run along the big cotton field across the street. On Christmas Day last year, my neighbor's three roosters found their way into my yard and were crowing. They seemed oblivious to the barking of my two large dogs in the pen.
The nearest gas station is 3 miles away and the nearest grocery store is about 6 miles away. The public library is actually closer than the grocery store. I live 1/4 mile away from two rural churches. The closest Wal-Mart is 10 miles away.
The nice thing is that there is a 25 yard indoor pool within 8 miles and an outdoor 25 meter pool within 5 miles. The nearest LC pool is 1.5 hours away, so I rarely get the chance to practice LC.
People are very friendly out in the country, but also know when to respect your privacy. It is, overall, a pleasant place to live.
