Swimming Stereotypes

Equipment Rep Trains with every piece of equipment available at all times. The Luddite Trains with nothing. Only uses a loin cloth and goggles in workout. The Barnacle Leaves right on your feet. Couldn't count to five or ten if his life depnded on it. The Coach Not an actual coach, but someone who is consumed with technique. Swimming is a precise set of moves that can be broken down, categorized, and scientifically analyzed. The Jaded Could care less about technique. Just wants to swim and leave the analysis to the eggheads. The Swimaholic Trains at least 10 swimming workouts a week. Anything less is viewed as not trying. Fast Guy who Never Trains Shows up once a month and breaks national records in practice. Hardest Working Man in the Swim Business Trains like a ferocious animal in workout, but has no speed when it comes to racing. Lane Guy Works out in a lane that is far too fast or slow for him. The Crack Guy Dude, pull your swimsuit up or get a bigger size. The Newbie Shows up to practice in board shorts and a scuba mask. _________________ As for myself, I would fall into the categories of Luddite and Jaded. Also, I wrote this from a male perspective, but the women are included as well. Any other stereotypes?

Help me name this one? When I was 13, I swam laps at the local university pool. Towards the end of my workout, I noticed that a chesty co-ed was swimming wearing a white t-shirt and white underpants in lieu of a swimsuit. To my horror, her attire had become totally see-thru! She was getting ready to get out of the pool, and like a good kid I stopped her and warned her that she was exposing herself! She said her towel was locked in her locker. So I offered to go get a kickboard, at least she could conceal her front. She thanked me, and waited until I came back with a kickboard. She repeated how grateful she was that I helped her out. Then she climbed out of the pool at the ladder farthest away from the lockerroom, and sashayed across the deck swinging the kickboard at her side. The lifeguards were just rolling their eyes. Apparently she was a frequent flier at that pool.

a chesty co-ed was swimming wearing a white t-shirt and white underpants in lieu of a swimsuit. How was her swim? If she's a good swimmer, at least she was where she belongs. (see #380) ;)
  • The lifeguards were just rolling their eyes. Apparently she was a frequent flier at that pool. It is annoying when people do things to simply draw attention to themselves. It can be done on-line as well, and it's just as obvious.

Or, draw attention to themselves by being critical of others; even critical of those they don't even know. There always seems to be a playground bully in every group; the type that never grew out of that mentality and left the playground.
  • The lifeguards were just rolling their eyes. The female lifeguards probably rolled their eyes. I bet the guys didn't! But let me get this straight. She actually got in the pool wearing just a t-shirt and panties? I've seen my share of sheer swimsuits, but can't say I've ever seen someone get into a pool wearing this...at least not during a public session!

Watching you troll each other is much more fun!

You've heard of Christmas in July, well this is Festivus in September, featuring the Airing Of Grievances! Next up is the Feats Of Strength, for which I nominate Jazz Hands. To wrap things up, Wookiee will dance around the Festivus pole. Just prior to that I will need to leave on an unrelated matter. :afraid:But first, :applaud: to awesomesauce __steve__!
