After a year of steady Masters swimming, I think I have reached a point where nutrition may be limiting my swimming progression.
What are the basics? Some general guidelines? Protein before or after a workout? Carbs when? I really don't know what foods help with what, swimming wise. Thankfully, cholesterol, fats, and weight aren't an issue, but at age 47 I do need to keep an eye on calories.
Thanks!

I say carbs the night before (light on them), and proteins following the workout. Just my personal opinion and what I have seen out there. Fruit between the events (no apples, though, as they take a significant amount of time to digest).
