I'd figure I'd post this here because I don't know where else to start. I am asking some HS swim coaches and would like to see if the your school district requires you to have the following Red Cross certifications:
1. Lifesaving
2. First Aid/CPR
3. Water Safety Instructor

I coach 2 town hs teams and I have to provide my certs (LGT, first aid for prof rescuer) for the pools not the schools. This is a dept of health req because there is no other guard on duty during practice. Some coaches even turn in swimmers' certs to cover the bases, but that is happening less now than it used to. Good luck!
In the state of Ohio, The Ohio High School Athletic Association requires the following:
1. CPR
2. Sports Medicine/ Pupil Supervision Certificate
3. BCI/FBI background check fingerprinting required by most school districts
