Hi, What kind of watch do you guys recommend to use while swimming? (I mean wrist watch not the one that goes on the finger). Thanks in advance.

I like a cheap 100M Timex Ironman with a strap that is essentially an extension of the case. These straps naturally curve around the wrist. Needs to be cheap because my watch gets banged around in the pool. I seem to hit lane lines a lot.

Don't get the 7.99 watch from Walmart. I bought one of those, and it filled with water the first day I was using it in the pool.

I agree with the Timex Ironman recommendation. I think they're $30 at Target, long lasting and durable. I smacked the lane line so hard once that it ripped my Medical ID bracelet off, scraped my hand until it was bleeding (still have a mark), but the watch was not affected in any way. The only issue is that the white accent turns a brownish hue from the chlorine, but no big deal.

I like this one. I usually buy my Timexes on ebay.

Ironman Triathlon watch... I've beaten the heck out of these watches and they keep on going. I usually get bored of the style before it dies... u can find good deals on eBay/amazon or get 'em at Target. Try and get one with the plastic wristband, the ones with the material/fabric band stay wet for a very long time. Stay away from the Speedo watches. They're junk.
