So I have just started swimming in the mornings and then in the afternoons, I feel pretty good right now, it is a little difficult unless I concentrate on different strokes at different practices but I'm sure it will get better over time. Is this a good idea? I do 5 workouts a week and swim only 3 days so I get 4 days rest. How many of you swim doubles? Does it work for you?
I would be much more open to two pactices per day if I didn't have to be in at work by 8 am. For me that means starting the swim at 6 am or before to get in decent yardage and get dressed/breakfast/+ commute time.
The nice thing about being a master's swimmer is having the choice to come to however many (or few) practices you want to. I did the age group two-a-days, and I did plenty in high school swimming - plus plenty of push-ups and extra sets because I was late or missed a practice. It's ok when you are 16 - not so much ten years later.
