Tips for long hair and swim caps

Okay...I ordered my swim cap for long hair but UPS rescheduled my SwimOutlet shipment (UG)and now its' not going to be here until next week. I have at least 2 more workouts I'll be doing with my regular size cap before my new one arrives. The darn thing keeps popping off my head all the time! Today was especially frustrating as it came off THREE times during my workout today. My hair goes down almost to the middle of my back. It's curly and medium thickness. Any tips to keep my normal Speedo cap on my head until my long hair cap arrives??

I noticed when I don't wet the inside or my hair, there is a little air bubble in there. It doesn't matter really because I don't have long enough hair to make it pop off, but I assume if I did, it could come off. As far as tucking ears or not, during practice I generally don't simply for comfort. But if I'm racing, I feel like my ears are big brakes that will slow me down if I don't tuck them in. I don't know how true it is, but all the high level swimmers tuck them, and it makes me feel faster, so I do it.
