Okay...I ordered my swim cap for long hair but UPS rescheduled my SwimOutlet shipment (UG)and now its' not going to be here until next week. I have at least 2 more workouts I'll be doing with my regular size cap before my new one arrives. The darn thing keeps popping off my head all the time! Today was especially frustrating as it came off THREE times during my workout today.
My hair goes down almost to the middle of my back. It's curly and medium thickness.
Any tips to keep my normal Speedo cap on my head until my long hair cap arrives??
I actually find that my cap pops off more easily if I wet the inside of my cap first.
I have fairly long, very thick, curly hair and this is a constant problem for me. The stylist I go to actually knows that my needs are long enough to braid it, but short enough to fit it all in my cap.
At this point, I tend to prefer caps I get from races since they are a bit larger. Silicone caps always seem too small and too slippery--they pop off the most.
I find that race caps, while they don't last too long, are larger sized, since they are designed to fit everyone. I also find that if my forehead is dry and the inside of the cap is dry, it makes a bit of a seal that seems to hold the cap in place. Sounds ridiculous, but it works.
I also find that it matters how much conditioner I've used. When I know it's a big swim day coming up, I don't use as much conditioner in the shower before that swim. Also sounds silly, but it helps.
I empathize with your plight. It's no fun!
