Not sure if this has been asked here... For me, the first reason is that I don't want to be drowned in case of accident  . The last reason is that I'm proud to tell people I swim :D . In between there are a lot of other reasons.
What about you?
Let me think about this one...ah, here are my answers:
I am good at it, always have been.
I suck at basketball, football, and any stick sport.
It is less dangerous and expensive than mountain biking.
Fewer injuries than running.
It makes me feel good.
I enjoy the challenge of pushing myself and accomplishing a goal.
I love to compete at it.
It keeps me healthy and fit.
It makes me better in the sack.
I can eat almost anything.
I can drink as much as I dare.
It relieves stress.
I keeps me young and active.
I have fun with my teammates and fellow swimmers.
It enables me to relive fun times from Age Group, HS, and College.
I learn more about it the longer I do it.
I get to give my skills and talents back to it.
It has give me many good memories.
I am sure there is more but I swim because it give me much more than I have ever given to it. It truly is a wonderful sport and is one I hope to do for the rest of my life.
