  • Georgia Tech sounds cool. If worse comes to worst, I can drive down. It will only take me like 12.5 miles where as Clovis, CA would take 50 million hours. I always wanted to go to Puerto Rico. But, I don't think that it is a good idea to have that meet during hurricane season. Without looking it up, does anyone remember the last time PR got hit with a nasty hurricane? No? Ok, now you can look it up...Noaa PR Hurricane History From what I know of meterology and hurricanes, the season picks up in late summer. While August technically falls into that season, historical data shows that the biggest threat for Hurricanes begins in mid-August and continues into October. Also, for those of you who have not had a geography lesson in a while, PR is pretty far east in the Caribbean. This plays to their benefit in that most storms need time and space to develop as they head west. Most storms that pass near PR are tropical depressions and tropical storms - and it is not like we haven't already hosted a national championship with those. Could it happen? Of course - we'd be in the Caribbean in Hurricane Season. However, the liklihood is very small, and that's what you have travel insurance for.
