my first LCM competition is in 2 weeks, I always compete in SCM, so know that my times are going to be worse...I dont care how worse, I just wonder how harder is it, at this point I feel like I need the wall every 25 meters, what is going to happen when there is no wall for the next 25m ?? and again...and again...:drown:
I will be swimming 400 free, 400 IM and probably 200back. turns are somehow my "only" advantage, I usually go faster and further than other swimmers every time I turn..., BUT I dont know if I will be able to make good turns cause I dont know what to expect from my body during LCM races...
any advice???
Whoa, no slouch events there - remember to take them out long and strong. The 400 IM LCM is probably my most challenging event, the fly kills me. Dont take it out too fast.
I prefer LCM myself.I think the adjustment is mostly mental.Just think about keeping long.Build into each race.Think of the 50M as giving you more time to accelerate.
I prefer LCM over SCM. I like doing SCM because it is very international. I wish that USA swimming could break their addiction to "yards" swimming. When I did the longer events in SCM, it was a big adjustments because I never swam a 200 fly in SCM.
Wow, you have a LCM meet in October. Good luck.
