Hi! We are talking to an orthopaedic surgeon tomorrow regarding a torn labrum in a college swimmer for whom surgery has been recommended. We'd like to get a second opinion and noticed in other threads that some of you have had the surgery. Can you recommend any orthopaedic surgeons who specialize in shoulder injuries and have treated or operated on swimmers with torn labrums or other shoulder injuries? We have found the names of a couple of surgeons who have worked with a lot of pro athletes, mostly football and baseball players.
If you could e-mail with any suggested names to riverdancer@bresnan.net, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Scott Gillogly. He does only shoulders and knees. He is in the Atlanta area and is the ortho to the Falcons and Thrashers. He did my knee surgery which had been having issues for 20 years at that point. Now, 8 years later, no problems. He has also done my sister's 2 knee surgeries (compartment syndrome) and my dad's torn quad tendon and his cleaning out of the shoulder.
