Death to all Noodlers!

One 100 free to go in set. Two open lanes.(no lane lines in pool) Noodler comes over to stand in my lane to talk with friend. Pool is set at 85 degrees cause all the noodlers say it is to cold otherwise. I complain to guard, am told, "well there are a lot more of them then there are lap swimmers" Wont be if they keep this up. UGH! :frustrated:
  • And he even used and adult font designed to attract attention to his content, not himself.
  • Go home at 69°? I consider any open water swim at 70° and up a warm water swim. Bob and I swim at the same pool.Around Xmas the heater broke and the temp slowly fell to 72 degrees. At that temp the only 2 in the pool were Bob and I.Bob because he likes it cold,me because I have wetsuits. My apology to purists, but shivering messes up my stroke mechanics.
  • www.msnbc.msn.com/.../ Reading this article (which even mentions "the community pool") all I could think of was noodlers.
  • And he even used and adult font designed to attract attention to his content, not himself. Don't. Even. Go. There. (Where's the Forum Moderator when ya need one?) Speaking of "adult", aren't you adult enough to leave this alone, once and for all? Just for the record, I don't use my font, color, or size, to "attract attention"; I use it because I LIKE it. And, if I'm going to sit here at the computer and type, I want to like what I'm looking at!
  • I was talking about wookiee and his new found love of the stupid font. It's not always all about you, believe it or not.
  • I was talking about wookiee and his new found love of the stupid font. Yeah, right. Nice try! :rolleyes:It's not always all about you, believe it or not. I never thought it was. And, those who really know me will be the first to tell you just that. :chillpill:

Aaaaack! Craig Wilson, columnist for USA Today ("The Final Word", Life section), has become a - GASP! - Noodler!!! :afraid: He wrote about it in today's paper. Excuse me, but I think you have a dolphin in your ear. :D
  • The pool heater has been fixed. The noodlers have been coming back slowly, but today had more noodles than a pasta party!:rant3: I see you are in Smyrna also, what noodle pool do you work out at?

The pool heater has been fixed. The noodlers have been coming back slowly, but today had more noodles than a pasta party!:rant3: Last week marked my first encounter with the noodlers in my gym, and, man, they were rude. My belief in man-kind had gone down two notches because of this encounter. It was a large-ish enough pool so I thought the five of them (with no teacher and no music) could easily co-exist with me while I finish swimming along the edges for my last 10 rounds. But how wrong I was. Two men were actively trying to block me from my rounds. Needless to day, I was the faster in this contest, so they could not have blocked me unless I allowed them to. I adjusted my speed and route for the most part whenever I saw their approaches. But the fact that they actually TRIED (and did in two occasions) to physically touch/push/corner me was amazing. I am still wondering what made them behave so hostilely and took such actions in an environment where there was very little to gain for them. My only explanation so far is: human debris, which is quite sad. ;-( I would rather endure colder pool temperature everyday instead of this.
