One 100 free to go in set. Two open lanes.(no lane lines in pool) Noodler comes over to stand in my lane to talk with friend. Pool is set at 85 degrees cause all the noodlers say it is to cold otherwise. I complain to guard, am told, "well there are a lot more of them then there are lap swimmers" Wont be if they keep this up. UGH! :frustrated:
I believe we should all be in favour of letting the noodlers set the rules. Bar all lane swimming in pools for those wanting a free ride. The swimmers don't want to pay for their coaching. They should have to belong to a masters group and swim only when their teams have their scheduled work outs:thewave::thewave:
This would be great if it didn't take into consideration people who either can't afford to spend the higher price to swim with Masters (we have ONE local group that is $45/mo.. it's more than swimming at local pools on your own), or who have a schedule conflict and can't make practices. And there are LOTS of places that have no Masters' group at all.
I like the way our local public pool has handled pool sharing. We have an L-shaped pool and with they do deep water aerobics, we swim east-west and when they have shallow water aerobics, we swim north-south. The one big pet peeve for me to swimming there is that there are no lane ropes (aside from the one separating aerobics classes from lap swimmers) and the water gets quite choppy with the aerobics and lap swimming going on at the same time.
What's funny to me is I used to swim there quite a bit and wasn't bothered by it - then I joined Masters for a while and while my only local Masters group leaves A LOT to be desired, when I went back to the public pool I realized how much better a swimming environment it was.
