One 100 free to go in set. Two open lanes.(no lane lines in pool) Noodler comes over to stand in my lane to talk with friend. Pool is set at 85 degrees cause all the noodlers say it is to cold otherwise. I complain to guard, am told, "well there are a lot more of them then there are lap swimmers" Wont be if they keep this up. UGH! :frustrated:
I have joined the noodlers at my pool after an injury that prevents me from swimming more then a couple of laps.I do feel somewhat like an invader of their space, because I bring the same intesnity to my noodle workout that I had for my swimming.Call me noodler all you want-but when I spend an hour in the pool my sole purpose is to kick my heart into action with the limited mobility I have.
Plus,I have a sneaky feeling that I'm burning more calories doing that, then half the swimmers doing their slow and steady laps over in the lap lanes.
"Sidelined Swimmer=Temporary Noodler"
As I mentioned before I'm not against noodlers. I'm against noodlers and swimmers on one lane. I'm actually against slow and fast swimmers on the same lane and it's not something I have against slow or fast swimmers. IMO such separation to slow and fast lanes in the pool would simplify life for everyone.
Actually there's something I hate more than swimmer and noodler on the same lane: and that is a slow swimmer who accelerates when you overtake him. That actually creates extremely dangerous situation when you actually can injure another swimmer moving opposite direction and yourself. These people know they are slow swimmers but don't want recognize that and absolutely don't think about others.
