In various years, I have incorporated the following into my out-of-the-pool exercise done twice a week and am convinced it made a difference on my starts off the block and my push off the wall:
3 x 2 minute spin at 140 rpm (on a spin bike) - 3 minutes recovery between each 2 minute spin
4 x 250 jumps (jumping rope) - 2 minute rest between each set of 250
Even though it can border on torture, I'm thinking about starting it up again. Anybody tried this type of thing (spinning at high rpms and/or jumping rope) and had it contribute to their swim performance?

in theory, the higher you can jump the better your starts will be. It's not a mystery. Polymetirc boxs help alot. Or what ever else helps you jump higher.
