I read some interesting material on how to improve flexiblity. I have my swimmers after every kick set (probably should do it after every set) pull / bend their ankle with their hands for 8 sec apiece.
This guy from UK Tri Swimming forum, sifted through and decifered a lot of research on the subject. Very interesting stuff. He made some conclusions that made a lot of sense. If you'd like to read it, just ask.
