In case you don't want to read it the article states that Ricardo Ricco on the TDF was busted because the drug manufacturer put a molecule in the substance he consumed to help anti-doping authorities detect its illegal use.
If you can get the manufacturers in cahoots with anti-doping agencies I believe a big step forward can be made. Not perfect but progress for sure.
