I was wondering what the smallest amount of time the human eye can see/detect. does anyone know. I don't know the exact answer, but I believe that ordinary broadcast TV shows about 30 frames per second and I don't think anyone can detect the frames. So the answer is probably more than 1/30 of a second. (By the way, that's another reason not to trust what you think you saw on TV -- regardless of whether your eye can detect 1/100 of a second, TV doesn't show that.)
