I am rooting for Ian Crocker cause i think he is just a great swimmer and his butterfly stroke is amazing. My friend went to american short course championships and saw crocker do like a 45 on his 100 fly.. Amazing :p
  • I vote for Phelps. My opinion is that Phelps is incredibly strong - physically, of course, but especially mentally. I think Crocker is incredibly fast and very talented, but he's a little more hit-and-miss with his performances.
  • I hope crocker wins because he's my friend I hope phelps wins because he could make history by winning 8 golds at the 08/08/08 Olympics Who ever wins has to earn it Last year phelps went 48.4 in the 100 fr and 50.7 in the 100 fly This year phelps went 47.5 in the 100 free so if he has a proportional drop in the 100 fly he could be 49.8ish / under 50 Haven't heard how crocker trained at Olympic Training camps Crocker isn't going to back half phelps, he may be able to hold him off to win crocker has to get out in 22 high 23 low to break 50 phelps has to be out in 23.6, 7 or 8 Crocker will be fresh Phelps will have many prior swims Can't wait to see how it plays out Good luck to both

Why is everyone counting crocker out? His last couple big races he has made mistakes. If he can just finish he should win. Crocker wins the 95 fly almost every time. He just needs to man up and not screw up his finish this time.

The reason Crocker is being counted out is that he hasn't swum a good race of any kind in a while. He DQ'd (false start) his 100 free at Trials. His 100 fly was clearly subpar. His 100 fly at trials was more like a 80 fly. Crocker false started a relays at Worlds. And Phelps is on fire, swimming better than anyone in the world right now. Phelps has great speed - ala his 100 free last night. So I think it is a good bet that Phelps takes Crocker with another world record. The only advantage Crocker has is that he will be fresh. But Phelps doesn't seem to get tired much. Crocker may be so fresh that he is stale. Crocker has great walls but I don't think they are any better than Phelps'.

Because of this: I'm not counting Crocker out, but I'd put my money on Phelps. I'm just saying, if crocker can finish like he did in 2005 worlds then he should take it. he was one bad stroke from winning last year! www.youtube.com/watch crockers finish was god awful.
