I am rooting for Ian Crocker cause i think he is just a great swimmer and his butterfly stroke is amazing. My friend went to american short course championships and saw crocker do like a 45 on his 100 fly.. Amazing :p
Crocker and Hansen haven't looked too sharp lately. I hope that they can come through and put up some great times. But I am afraid that Crocker won't be able to hold off Phelps unless he's ahead by a second at the turn.
I have a feeling that Phelps is going to break the WR and beat Crocker. I am so torn because I love Crocker and I want him to win, but man it'd be darn cool if Phelps did get 8 medals. The 100 fly is late though in the program and Phelps may well be gettin' tired by then. HOWEVER, he beat him with the same schedule in 04 and pretty much the same schedule at trials (sans relays).
Phelps has his hands full in the 200 free. That will be a race. I think the boys will do OK in the 400 free relay. They have the fortitude for it.
I hope Ian does well. He will be pretty fresh.
If crocker swims up to his ability, Phelps will have a race on his hands. Though for him to get 8 golds, everything must fall into place, like the relay tonight...which is going to tough enough for the team.
Why is everyone counting crocker out?
Because of this:
Crocker wins the 95 fly almost every time.
I'm not counting Crocker out, but I'd put my money on Phelps.
