Upon watching the 400M freestyle heats last night, I could not help but be inspired by the guy. He apparently is 5'9-5'10 and such a good swimmer. I was under the impression that work class speed was impossible for anyone that height (my height :))
I don't think he's really that short anymore. I believe he's now listed at 183 cm, which is 6 ft.
Erik Vendt is around 5'10" though, so it's not impossible :)

The race announcers were saying that he is actually shorter than his listed height, more around 5'10". I suppose they could be wrong. I thought there was such variability in height listings in basketball only.
I watched him in person at PanPacs and did not get the impression that the other competitors were much taller. As I posted back then, he has a tremendously efficicient arm entry on each stroke, very little splash.
