Hi, Here's a link to an article www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/08/01/AR2008080102590.html in today's Washington Post that I wrote on performance enhancing drug use by amateur athletes. Thanks again to everyone who responded to my questions on this subject a few months ago. I know there is a lot more to say on the subject so stay tuned. I've got to say, Red Bull really does seem to help.....

Some light reading: sports.yahoo.com/.../news;_ylt=Ai_n99sz1muPJ5VRb9_wORWVTZd4 An excerpt: "Before the 2004 Olympics, a self-described nutritionist in Florida who has provided HGH and testosterone to clients, worked with some of Lohberg’s swimmers. But Lohberg said Brian Yusem, the self-described nutritionist from Boca Raton, gave the swimmers only protein shakes that contained amino acids. In 2007, Yusem worked with former NFL quarterback Tim Couch and was involved in a regimen that called for the use of HGH and testosterone during Couch’s failed comeback attempt. After Yahoo! Sports published a story about the matter, the NFL hit Couch with a six-game ban. Lohberg said he could not recall who introduced him to Yusem. Clifford Carroll, a former employee of Yusem’s who injected a male model with testosterone during taping of an MTV segment on steroids, assisted Yusem when he was working with the swimmers. “I have no idea about the background of these people,” Lohberg said of Yusem and Carroll. “So when you tell me that they’re involved with drugs or whatever, it’s totally news to me. “Now, from what you’re telling me, they may have tried to get into working with some people like that, starting small with protein shakes and later finding different ways or whatever. But it never came to that.” The five swimmers who worked with Yusem could not be reached for comment about Yusem. But Lohberg said he cut off the relationship after about two months in the fall of 2003."
