reading the heat sheet makes me wish I'd signed up
A KPN WR was broken. My teammate Arlene Delmage 100 fly 1:06.42.
I saw that! Great swim! She outtouched Lisa Dahl in the 50 fly too. The Oregon women are very fast. What are you guys eating out there?!
Congrats to you on your fast times too, Allen!
nice swim chris
Thanks Ande and Elise. After being on the other side of the WR on the 50 (0.07 sec) and the 200 (0.11 sec), it was kind of nice. Even though Michael Ross will undoubtedly set a new standard shortly.
Lot of great swims by many forumites and others, and it was great to meet/see many of you. The meet was long and hot but was extremely well organized -- so much so that the rain didn't start until just after the last heat of the meet!
About that last event, the men's medley relay...my team was in the same heat as the ARIZ team and there was a crazy rumor that Tall Paul was going to swim the backstroke leg. I was all set for some payback after the 100 fly debacle before he chickened out and swam the free leg instead.

Great swimming Chris! I heard him trash talking about drinking your Heineken right before your 100 fly... then again, I think everyone heard him.
Quick meet report: 400 im was too slow; 200 back and 100 fly were good. 400 free was too slow (theme?), relays were fun. My 200 fly was this morning... another guy in my heat DNF so I hope everyone was looking at him when the piano fell on me at 175 meters. I haven't done a piano swim since I was 18. My arms were barely getting out of the water at the finish. I took a long warm down, and then went to pick up my medals. The girl at the awards table asked me if I wanted a patch. I said "uh... sure!" For all I knew, it was going to say Mount Hood Community College on it. It says USMS NATIONAL CHAMPION... for my 200 back, which I'll be swimming more often now. Hopefully others in my age group will forget to swim it, like they seemed to this weekend :D

It's not what they're eating...with more microbreweries per capita than any city on the planet its what they are drinking!
Thanks Chris. The clock does not lie... so here we go... The difference between Paul Carter's 100's: 12.37. The difference between my 100's: 11.35. Him: National Record. Me: :drown:

The 200 fly LCM has to be one of the most brutal events ever. I have no intentions of EVER even attempting this event. However, it was AMAZING to watch all of the heats of this race. In one heat a guy swam the first 175 m fly then switched to free - I didn't see it but I can imagine the pain and it makes me cringe. That event in nuts. I give a big ole :notworthy: to anyone that even stepped up to the blocks for it.
The meet was amazing. While the weather wasn't ideal - it sure beats today's weather. I am at the airport in Portland (hence all the postings) looking out the window that the dreary/rainy weather and wow has it cooled off.
A big shout out to the team hot tub members in attendance - it's fantastic we all have each other because there aren't a lot of people that could have ridden that emotional roller coaster ..:thhbbb::censor::rofl:

I saw someone wearing a Team Hot Tub t-shirt (Jim Matysek I believe). What the heck is Team Hot Tub? Or do you have to be a member to know? :)
