I am not sure we realize how bad this will be for swimming and US swimming.
This will change how everybody looks at the US team from now on. The circumstances do not matter to the casual sports fan - they will only remember "US swimmer caught".
The medal winners will lose a lot of money on endorsements - USA swimming was the "clean" sport, the poster child of how to do it right. Not any more - any advertiser will now look at swimmers differently.
What about US trials - this will change how quickly the testing has to come back and how some 3rd place finisher may train after trials.
US Swimming - they have already screwed this up on 10 different levels. No press conference, 3 weeks after the fact, some web forum starts leaking the story, coaches and swimmers at the Olympic training camp know and they expect to keep this quiet ? Amateurs

Mr. Logan should get a medal for standing up and telling it like it is---and should be. Give false information to Federal Agents, cheat, take PED, malign others, call your detractors racists and threaten law suits to ALL who called you out for your cheating---heck, Ms. Jones is a poster girl for the slammer---and needs to serve ALL her well deserved time. It is time for all nations to get tough on PED and STOP turing a blind eye and making excuses for this wretched behavior.
I have utter and complete disdain for these cheaters--and--if for no other reason they stole the dreams of years and years of hard work, dedication and efforts for those who chose to do it the right way---CLEAN. Oh, and for those who think their are no clean athletes competing--nonsense. Many, many honest, decent and dedicated athletes have chosen the right way to compete--and that is clean.
I'm glad he wrote this letter too... I seriously hope that Bush will not grant Jones ANYTHING. I think she should be embarassed that she wrote that letter to get excused. I can't believe she did that. Keep her butt in jail.
Even though she is in jail and had her medals stripped away from her ... she also stole all those moments away from other athletes. She still has the memories of winning, raising her arms in victory, standing on that podium and singing to our anthem... man, does that make me mad.

Marion Jones was convicted of lying to federal investigators, thereby significantly thwarting two investigations, and of participating in a check-fraud scheme. She was incarcerated on March 6 for 6 mos., so should be due for release around September 6. These are not the types of crimes that get ppl out of jail early or their sentence commuted.

Carl Lewis and Lance Armstrong innocent as the driven snow. Don't count on them always being clean. I would never place a bet on those two.

Heck, I think all the questions have been answered. Are you Jessica Hardy? Yes! Ms. hardy, your tests came back + on BOTH the A & B splits. You are out! If their are some mysterious questions that she has not answered or been asked, then the burden of proof is definitely on her at this stage of the game. She had MORE then ample opportunity to raise any questions or provide any answers she could while being interviewed on national TV. I also have not seen her scream loudly that she will take three lie detector tests administered by three very credible test facilities from law enforcement. IF I WERE TO TEST + and was innocent I'd be screaming from the tallest buildings on earth begging for three lie detector tests.

He was not an achoholic he was a heavy drinker. His consumption of alcohol never interferred with his life. He never missed a day of work, never drank and drove. He was a great parent. He drank booze after being poisoned by Chlorine Gas in a work related accident that burned his lungs so badly that he suffered with pain and emphazima for the next ten years until he died.
