Hey, whatcha know, my Mom get married in 1959 too. At age 19, to my Dad, who had just graduated from a college that didn't admit women where he drank beer at the "animal house" fraternity. Forgot to mention, those facts don't capture who they were when they grew up in the slightest. :thhbbb:
Not sure what you mean by what they did when they "grew up," but my "grown up" mother has a Ph.D in fungal physiology and is internationally recognized for her work in pesticides. How's that for a woman that went to college in the "miserable" 1950s?
Forgot to mention - she's from the Land of Mayberry. Best thing I ever heard her say was that she was going to hang on to her southern accent as long as she was alive because she felt it to be an asset in a man's world. Seems to have worked! (You can go ahead and belch now!). ;)
