Are any older video clips of Dara Torres swimming (say, 2000 or before) available online? A quick search of YouTube didn't turn up anything obvious. Everything there seems pretty recent.
Thx,

Thanks for the link. After that, I had a hard time finding close-ups of Dara during the trials. Everything seemed to be long shots. I did find a second or two close-up in this ABC fluff piece (around 1:23 - don't blink). It's hard to tell, but I think Dara's stroke looks smoother now than in the 2000 Olympics. Whatever else she's done to improve in the last eight years, I'd guess her technique has improved.
Anybody else compare new vs. old video of her stroke?

Yeah, I was thinking exactly the same thing. Sprint distance swimming obviously takes power and strength, but no matter what the distance, technique is most the important factor of all. A smoother and more hydrodynamic stroke could account for a faster time with an older body. Does someone else have an opinion (either opposing or agreeing)?
I hope someone can provide an argument that is convincing. I'm really getting tired of great performances being immediately greeted with accusations of doping or performance enhancement.
