It's official. I have it. Spent the whole of last week glued to Omega timing, USMS Discussion Forums and video replays. That, coupled with the fact that I couldn't do any serious swims because the pool was crawling with kids on the first week of summer holidays and the gym was closed for roof repairs.
Now it is back to reality. No more vicarious enjoyment through the superhuman results of Phelps et al. It is just me and the water. And, to be honest, I feel old...and slow! Anyone want to start a support group?!!!

Opposite problem here: no TV, dialup computer. All my info comes from thrilling remarks on these boards!
So I went swimming, inspired to try for the Geezer Olympics. It was nice in Lake Michigan, altho' I wish my left hand would not get numb! Swimming gloves?
Regards, VB
Hey, ViveBene; Just warm-down with (lightly) closed fists and you shouldn't have any more such sore shoulders. It works with any stroke. I am compelled to swim 200 Fly every day as a warm-up which I do mostly with closed fists. I'm very slow, but I'm still alive, and not always last.
p.s. Viva 440 is one of my license plates That was the event I swam for Northwestern in 1942. (Also, as a Hornist I auditioned for Stokowski in 1956 or 1957, but didn't make the cut).
